Frequently Asked Questions for TipSee

There has been a miss-information published about TipSee Ads:

The basic App has two types of ads:

Banner ads at the bottom of the page, and Interstitial Ads that will pop up from time to time.

How do Ads display?

Interstitial popups are very similar to YouTube Ads and can be closed within a few seconds.

There are no popup ads when you FIRST go to any of the 4 main pages, e.g., summary, calendar or add/edit page. This makes it very easy to enter your tips and view the Summary or Calendar page without any distractions.

Interstitial popups are not on any timer. So you can stay on a page as long as you want without any additional popups.

Less intrusive banner ads are at the bottom of the page.

What if I don’t want Ads?

When you first open the App, if you “Watch A Video”, you not only get access to ALL the PRO features, but the popup Interstitial Ads are removed.

When you sign up for one of the subscription plans (e.g., Wages for $1/month), then both the Banner ads and Interstitial popup ads are removed.

The best way to explain this is Cable TV. There was a time if you subscribed to cable TV there were no commercials. Now, of course, there are more commercials than ever.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we have had to do this to cover our increased expenses, while still trying to provide the app for free.

Create another Job, e.g., JobName-OT, and enter your overtime hours separately.

When you work overtime, enter the number of hours for overtime separately from the normal hours. For example, enter the hours for JobName (4h 34m), and JobName-OT (2h 18m).

This will track your normal hours and your overtime hours separately, which will get summed together in the Tip_Report page.

Alternatively, you can do the following:

In the main menu, under OPTIONS → Optional Items To Track, create “Overtime Pay”. Select one of the two checkboxes (e.g., "Tips from Other Dept") and change the text field to “Overtime Pay”.

At the end of each day with overtime, you would enter the total amount of overtime pay along with your tip data.

So if you worked 2 hours and 18 minutes overtime for the day, you would enter the amount of overtime pay — e.g., the overtime pay amount for 2h 18m.

Both alternatives appear on the Tip_Report page. Alternative 1 will display the results on the Calendar page as two separate jobs. Alternative 2 will display the results on the Calendar page using one job.

First, we highly recommend you use one of the many available apps, like AppLock, since this is all they do, they put a lot of time and effort into making it right, and have more than 50 Million users.

We are using decimal system, which means you can enter 3.5 hrs. This means the app will use this to mean: 3 hours and 30 minutes (3:30), eg half of 60min. We all users to enter the hours and minutes separately.

On the Tip page you can add multiple tips, so if you worked 2 shifts on the same day and entered 3.5 hrs twice, it would total to 7 hours for the day.

With the PRO features, you can set it up to add your wages to your tips by entering your hourly rate under “Wage and Job Setup”.

Alternatively under “Optional Items to Track”, you can change the text for “Paid by Credit Card” to Wages. This information would be added to the Tips for those days you enter tip information, eg on each pay day. Another words, your paycheck can be entered bi weekly, either as a whole or broken out separately for tips and wages.

We highly recommend you send yourself a backup file to yourself once a week or so, in case your phone gets lost, stolen or fails or just to review.

We do not require, but highly encourage ALL users to backup their data on our Server. All data is backed up locally to your phone, but should the phone be turned in when you get a new phone all your data will be lost. Once your data is backed up remotely, then you only need to import the most recent file.

Since google keeps track of the apps you purchase you can download the paid version to multiple devices. TipSee even has an option to sync between multiple devices.

There are several ways:

1)"Weekly Income" under OPTIONS, 2)Tip_Report,
3)Summary page:
There are 4 summary blocks that display the tips for the day, week, month and year-to date on the Summary page. If you tap on the title bar for each block, a pop up will appear. The popups for week will display the amount for each week. For the Month, the popup will display the amount next to each month. To view this information in the summary box, select any particular week, month or year from the table.

The bottom of each of the summary blocks displays the total wages and total hours for the period selected.

So that previous records do not get distorted, we suggest you select your Job1, which will allow you to choose Edit. Now enter an End Date which is the last day before your raise, and save the changes.

Then Select + to add a new Job 1. The Start day will be the day your raise starts. You can then enter the new Hourly Wage. You can also change the Color Code so you know which day you started with the new higher wage and save your changes.

The “About Us” page in the main menu will list what version of the app you are running on your device.

There are many reasons why a user might have to cancel their subscription. The procedure can change from time to time, but should be done through the network it was purchased. This can be done efficiently by going to:

How to Cancel Android Subscriptions

Some employers over report your income from wages and tips. While some users are concerned about privacy, many other users have asked us to create a widget so they can proudly display their tips for the week, month and year for anyone to see. For Android users a TipSee Widget is available for your Home page.

Yes, you can enter multiple tips from the HOME page and they get added together within the same day. The total of all tips entered in a single day is what gets displayed on the Calendar page and the Add/Edit page. If the total for the day is wrong you can change it on the Add/Edit page.

On the Calendar page the top number represents the total tips you entered for the day and the tips/hr based on how many hours you entered.

The second number is Tips + Wages, when Wage_and_Job-Setup has been selected under OPTIONS.

Your wages are calculated based on the information you entered for your job in “Wage and Job Setup”. For example if you entered $10 as your Hourly Wage, and you worked 5 hours that day, then $50 would be added to your tips.
